What we keep, and for how long

The short version

A note needs a few personal things: who it is for, what to say, and where to send it. We collect only that, use it only to write and mail your note, and delete it once the note is in the mail and a little time has passed. We never sell it.

What we collect

• For each note: the recipient’s name and mailing address, the occasion, the tone, the details you share, how it should be signed, and the date you want it mailed.
• About you: your name and email address, so we can confirm your order and tell you when it is mailed.
• Payment is handled by Stripe on its own secure page. We never see or store your card number; we receive the payment amount and your name and email.

How long we keep it

• Each note’s details and the recipient’s address are deleted 30 days after the note is mailed. We keep the bare order (what was ordered, when, and the amount) for our accounts.
• If you choose to save your recipients and notes for next time, we keep them until you delete them. You can delete everything from your account at any time.
• A checkout you start but never pay for is deleted within two days.
• Our emails about your order name each recipient and the occasion (never the details or the address). Those emails stay in your inbox, and a copy stays in ours.
• Until you check out, your cart is stored only in your own browser.

Who else sees it

Only the services that run the site: Stripe for payment, Google Cloud (Firebase) to host the site and store orders, and our email provider to send your order emails. Nicole reads each brief to write the note. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Analytics

We count visits with our own simple, cookie-free analytics. It does not identify you or follow you to other sites.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at hello@nikkisnotes.com. The site is not meant for children under 13.
